We are currently seeking an experienced, motivated and suitably qualified Diesel Fitter to join our Mobile Equipment Maintenance team, operating from the Nyrstar Smelter site in Port Pirie, on a 12-month fixed term contract basis working Monday-Friday, 50 hours per week.

  • Mechanical Trade Qualification with sound diagnostic skills
  • A commitment to maintaining work health and safety practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt to a wide range of equipment repairs and servicing
  • Ability to work on varied heavy plant equipment and machinery as required
  • First rate knowledge and at least 3 years’ experience in the relevant trade
  • Ability to work as part of a small team and independently with a busy workload
  • Experience working in an industrial environment on a wide range of heavy vehicles, plant equipment and machinery (including forklifts, loaders and excavators), as well as experience with light vehicles would be an advantageous.
