We currently have exciting opportunities for enthusiastic and motivated School-based Apprentices to join our Civil Construction Team based in Hobart. Reporting to the Project Manager the successful candidate will be assigned a mentor and gain invaluable on the job experience as well as:

  • Develop skills, competencies and gain relevant experience required to work among multiple construction projects in line with best practice
  • Continuously contribute to the development of construction projects
  • Receive high quality training from leading industry experts.

A School-based Apprenticeship allows Year 10, 11 and 12 students to undertake a nationally recognised qualification as an apprentice or trainee while still attending school. School-based Apprenticeships provide pathways into careers in the trades and other vocations and give the occupant a head start in their chosen career.

As an Australian School-based Apprentice (ASbA) the successful applicant will:

  • Gain a Nationally Recognised Qualification – RII30915 Certificate III in Civil Construction
  • Join a well-respected national civil construction business
  • Earn wages while learning, and kick start their career pathway
  • Complete Year 12 and gain their TCE, working up to 15 hours a week during school term.

Your application for this role must address the following requirements:

  1. Be a school student in Year 10, 11 or 12 in 2018
  2. Have a genuine interest in civil construction
  3. Be able to work in a team and willing to learn
  4. Enjoy being hands-on, using machinery and being physically active
  5. A strong commitment to working safely
  6. Be committed to completing Year 12 school education and apprenticeship training.
